Master’s degree from the sculpture department at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 2006, under the guidance of Mrdjan Bajic. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies in the same department in 2003. They also have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Belgrade, obtained in 1998.

Their works have been exhibited in various cities across Serbia and Europe, including Venice, Trieste, Graz, Vienna, and Dusseldorf. The Belgrade City Museum acquired several of their pieces in 2005 and 2007. Additionally, they participated in a collateral event at the 51st Venice Biennale.

Their artistic endeavors explore the concept of empathy and the virtualization of reality in the context of the modern technological age.

The Virtual and The Real

Earlier works were created during the proliferation of the internet, and they delved into the concept of the virtual realm and how it could be translated into the physical world. While his current work builds upon these ideas, it is more concerned with the issue of overproduction and the overwhelming amount of content that we encounter on a daily basis.

Each of his works undergoes a protracted and often indeterminate process. At the outset, he cannot envision the final outcome and must continually refine and modify the piece, sometimes completely dismantling and restarting it. Interestingly, the ultimate result is not necessarily the physical artwork itself, but rather a collection of photographs of the piece. The paintings, drawings, and sculptures are a testament to the creative process and lend a visual weight to the final work.

One of the earliest works, “Religious Empathy Device,” won the prestigious “Grand Award Rista and Beta Vukanovic” at the end of his final year of studies. This award is the highest honor bestowed by the FFA for outstanding artistic achievement. Additionally, he was one of three artists selected to participate in Richard Deacon’s masterclass in Belgrade in 2006.
